Michael is an experienced counselor that has served the Four State area since 2010. He attended Pittsburg State University and attained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2007 and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology in 2010. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri and a Licensed Behavioral Practitioner in Oklahoma. He works with individuals, families, couples, and groups who experience a variety of issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, control issues, adjustment, behavioral, career, family, couples, marital, PTSD, and other trauma issues. He has worked in community, school, home, university, and private practice settings.

Michael has worked with individuals throughout the lifespan to help address and develop effective coping strategies and to help clients achieve therapeutic goals.  He utilizes a variety of techniques to not only help deal with current problem areas but to also help facilitate personal growth and introspection. He incorporates cognitive and behavioral strategies with relaxation, stress management, mindfulness, and existential techniques to help clients address personal issues and explore areas for expanding individual experience and enrichment. Michael helps clients engage in self-discovery and fosters an environment where clients are encouraged to contemplate their life’s purpose and explore options to actualize those aspirations.

Michael has always been fascinated with mental health and wellness issues. He has taken a keen interest in the causes of mental health and wellness over the years and has often served as a mentor to others before deciding to embark on his own career as counselor. He finds satisfaction in client success and development and encourages all to find their own personal niche in life. Michael believes clients can not only overcome difficult circumstances but can also thrive and achieve tremendous life satisfaction.
